Starry Night at Molas Lake
This was actually one of my first photos of the Milky Way, and is still my favorite. My friends and I could definitely see the Milky Way with our eyes, but it couldn’t compare to what the camera’s eyes captured - letting light in for longer, seeing more than we were able to.
I took several photos here, and every successful capture that I saw on my camera’s little screen made me squeal with delight! These kind of photos take a lot of planning - the time of moonrise, when & where the milky way will show in the sky, what the cloud coverage will be, if the location is in a ‘dark sky’ area or not… so if I’m going camping I usually look these things up in advance - just in case!
